Discord bot privacy policy URL — developer portal ready
Hosted link for bot verification and users.
A few quick questions and you get a hosted link you can paste into Discord Bot right away.
Discord Bot requirements
Discord's Developer Portal gives every application two fields under General Information, Terms of Service URL and Privacy Policy URL, and shows them to users on the authorization screen. Verification for bots past 75 servers and an App Directory listing both expect the documents to be in place and to name the app, what it reads and stores, and how to reach you. A hosted URL keeps those links alive while the bot grows.
What Discord Bot checks before listing
- Discord Developer Terms, section 5(a): you must provide and adhere to a privacy policy that clearly, accurately and fully describes what data you collect, how you use and share it with Discord and third parties, and how users can request deletion.
- You must maintain publicly available, up-to-date links to that policy in the Developer Portal and make it easily accessible from your app; the Application object carries it as privacy_policy_url next to terms_of_service_url.
- Section 5(b): share API data only with service providers, when the law requires it, or when a user expressly directs you to; delete it when it is no longer needed, when you stop operating the app, or when Discord or the user asks.
- Discovery and the App Directory need the team owner to complete identity and application verification, and the app must abide by the Developer Policy and Terms; the full list is under Your Application → Discovery → Discovery Status.

Building this with an agent?
Your agent can create the hosted URL for you. This site is an MCP server: point any MCP client at https://www.privacypolicyurl.com/api/mcp and call create_privacy_policy_url, check_privacy_policy_url or list_resource_types. The same call works over REST. It is listed in the official MCP registry, which means we went through a directory submission ourselves.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a privacy policy URL for Discord Bot?
Discord Bot — like most integration platforms — asks for a link to a privacy policy that explains what data you collect and how it's used. A hosted privacy policy URL satisfies that field and stays online even if your own site or integration changes.
How quickly can I get a Discord Bot privacy policy URL?
Usually a few minutes. Answer a short set of questions about your integration, and we generate a compliant policy and host it at a stable link you can paste straight into Discord Bot.
Can I edit the policy after I've submitted the link to Discord Bot?
Yes. Your privacy policy URL stays the same while you update the content behind it, so you never have to resubmit a new link to Discord Bot.
