App Store Connect marks a privacy policy URL invalid when the link does not resolve to a public HTML policy page — a homepage, a login wall, a PDF, or a dead link all fail. What App Store Connect checks before listing
- App Store Connect's App Information page has a Privacy Policy URL property: a URL that links to your company's privacy policy, required for iOS and macOS apps (tvOS apps enter the policy text in the Apple TV Privacy Policy field instead).
- App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(i): the privacy policy link must be in the App Store Connect metadata field and inside the app in an easily accessible manner, so a URL that does not load, redirects to a homepage or needs a login fails the field's purpose.
- The policy must identify what data the app collects, how, and all uses; confirm third parties receiving user data (analytics, ad networks, SDKs) give the same protection; and explain retention, deletion and how a user revokes consent.
- Keep the URL stable: the same link is read by reviewers at every submission, so fix the page behind it rather than changing the address.
